In Liesel's case, stealing is not completely wrong since stealing food is the only way she can survive. The circumstances that Liesel is living through do change the idea of stealing, since her foster parents barely have food to maintain the family. Liesel's life has been very complicated. Her brother died, and then her mother took her to a foster home. Her foster parents live in a small house, have barely enough food to eat and Liesel does not get the best education. Stealing is the only choice Liesel and Rudy have in order to eat. Also, since Liesel does not gave a good education, she may not know the meaning of stealing, or if stealing is right or wrong. Stealing is wrong and it is a sin, but stealing is the only choice Liesel and Rudy have to survive. But if it is the only choice they have ot survive, they had to steal food. We have to remember that they don't receive the best education, so they might have not thought what they were doing. Maybe the fruits they stole where the farmer's food for his family, bur they did not think on that. They just thought of eating and surviving. It is true that Liesel has many other options in order to receive and have money to buy food, but when you are dying of hunger, stealing might be your number one choice or the first idea that comes to your mind. If Liesel had a better education, then she would understand stealing better and would know it is bad.
