Before We Were Free Question #1 :)

I think that it is not fair that Papi and Tio Toni are putting there family in danger to try to change their country. It's not fair for the family to be scared, especially Anita. Also, they have to keep too many secrets and I don't think they like to live like that. I understand that they are trying to do something good for their family, but it is not fair to put them in danger knowing that things can go wrong. The government is really powerful and there is a possibility that Tio Toni and Papi's plan won't work. If they don't change their country for the better at the end, they would have risked their family for no reason. If it doesn't work , they would end up doing what Tio Toni had to do, hiding so that the government wouldn't catch them. I think the family is facing enough problems already and they don't need more!

Favorite Book :)

My favorite book I read is The Giver by Louis Lowry. I read it last year in 7th grade. This book was about a boy named Jonas who lived in a utopia. People in this society didn't have feelings, couldn't see colors, and everything was sameness. Their was this man, named "The Giver", who had all the memories, could see colors, and had feelings. Everyone in this community was assigned a job when he or she was 12, and Jonas was assigned the job of receiver of memories. He would see "The Giver" everyday, and he recieved the memories "The Giver" had. The memories were passed by "The Giver" to Jonas. "The Giver" placed his hands on Jonas' back and passed the memories. At the beginning, Jonas felt pain and sadness. Some memories were happy memories, others were not that happy. Jonas discovered that his father being a nurturer, killed the smallest twin of a set. Jonas was sick of living in a utopia, so he planned to run away. He ran away with a little boy named Gabe, who was taken care for a while by Jonas' family.

I liked this book because it was different from all the books I had read before. It was very interesting to read about a REALLY different community than ours. I liked it and I hope I can read the other books by this author.
